    Charge Corona

    Hi 👋

I want to know why some machines use charge corona assemblies and other use charge roller ? Even the different models of same brand use both?

    Hi,

I was always led to believe that charge rollers emit less Ozone and thus don't require as many Ozone filter changes, if any at all. I would assume that makes them more environmentally friendly as well. Personally I preferred the Corona's in the higher volume devices, ever since Konica changed the C659/759 range of machines to charge rollers, I've had nothing but problems with them. The old C654e/754e machines, with the charge corona's were fantastic work horses and drums lasted well.

Charge rollers certainly have their place, the C224e/C258 machines have been pretty bullet proof and the drums have lasted well for me.

    I hope this helps 😀

Agree about the ozone stuff and the 4 series drums with the sawtooth charger & grid are much better than drums with PCR.

Disagree that the C258, etc drums last just as long as 4 series. My experience with lower volume drums that have PCR is lucky to get a full life out of them.
