Printing fine not missing any print document but randomly spitting out a page with "PCL XL error Warning: Illegal Media type"

Chang the driver to real pcl or ps.
That xl crap is stupid and I don't know why it exists.
Right click on your printer that is having the PCL XL Error, and select Printing preferences. Click the Advanced tab. Change TrueType Font to Download as Softfont, and set Send True Type as Bitmap to Enabled. Click Apply and OK to save the changes.We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
