    C308 does not recognise magenta toner.

    Symptoms

    C308 has recently replaced waste toner (not full) full of magenta toner in the see-through plastic piece, machine is asking for a new waste toner
    Prints have magenta toner blurred all over the page, - but the drum is at 72% and not yet ready to change, but I have changed anyway and this fixed the problem, however print outs still have a very faint magenta hue on the page
    Have put in 3 newmagenta toners - the machine is not registering them and is still asking for toner to be replenished.

    On top of that there are 3 maintenance required codes showing on remote system P-7, P-21 & P-28

    Machine is down as mag toner is not reading.

    Was told it may be the dev unit or toner hopper...
    Can anyone pinpoint what the actual issue is based on the above symptoms and maintenence codes??

      I would definitely take a close look at M developer unit. May be emptied of developer and throwing off TCR readings. What are TCR values in service mode? Should be around 6 as example.

          Agree that the magenta developer has dumped. Print a magenta half tone pattern in service mode and if you see white diagonal bands you know it dumped developer.

              Already replaced the M drum, 3 days ago, this cleared the M hue on and streaks on paper temporarily but has not resolved toner issue

                  What type of toner you use OEM or something else?
                  Drum OEM unit or you just changed OPC ?
                  Toner black cap have chip mounted or not?
                  Bad toner could cause problems like this.

                      Drum is not OEM. Have tried 3 Mags, different batches too all chipped. Machine running ok with other remanu toners.
