    DTP Setting

    Hello,

I have been using the DTP quality setting for some time now on the 4/8 series as a bit of a get out of jail option when customers are complaining about colour matching issues and don't want to spend Money on a fiery, but for some reason this option has been removed from the i range. Is there anyone else out there missing this option or have any tips?

The reason I ask is I'm struggling to get a C250i to print the same colour as a 4 series, even after changing SW153.

    Thanks.

if the customer requires pantones and color matching then a Fiery is a must.
the standard emperon controller is WYSIWYG.
out of the box the copier is considered business color, not a bloody printing press
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
      The medication helps though...

Thank you for the info - I have tried both but can't get near the output from the 8 series.

I understand where you are coming from, but from the customer's point of view their last two copiers(4/8 series) were fine so it's all about trying to find a happy medium and let's face it we all know they are considered business colour but in reality, the customer will push the copier to its limit because they can produce a decent print without spending the extra for a fiery.

Without a true color matching system, you are very limited on color matching. The only other settings you could tweak would be in the print drivers. See below:

Are you familiar with the color gamut?

You could also try this setting, though KM does not specify what this switch does. I have not tried it myself.

In my opinion, the I series has been a tad castrated on colour quality because the previous generation was so good and not a million miles from dare I say a pro range. Pure Business decision. As mentioned before. It's only an office colour after all.

I have to take Stans side on this one...I have a lot of customers that are disappointed (at best) and "take the damn thing back" at worst..There is a noticeable difference between the e/8 and I series..In many cases these setting are enough. The colors are " blaugh " when put side by side..It's not like they are going from a Toshiba to a KM product..The output should at least be in the ballpark of the old machine and IMHO better. E
