Earlier this year I purchased a Klein tool backpack.

Found the best price on Amazon. I'm very happy with it.

I had a Swiss Gear backpack before this one. The zipper screwed up only after four years.

I like having a tool backpack because it is very comfortable when walking long distances. My hands are free except when I lugging my vac.

It's probably just my age, but my Platt case (gotta be close to 30 years old now) seems to have gotten HEAVIER... or maybe its just my arm pulling out of its socket, I dunno!
But about 15 years ago, I bought a softsided case, and there it sits.. right up under my workbench, and never even OPENED it, let alone used it! Stupid, I know. But I'm a creature of
habit. And I just don't wanna go to a call and not have what I need in the bag. Heck, I hardly ever carry the toolkit into calls anymore anyway, because the screwdriver is all I typically need.
But if I'm gonna carry the kit, there will be SOMETHING in there that I would have needed, that I wouldn't have been able to put into the sofsided case, I'm sure of it....

We use veto pro pac and platt cases. Bot are rock solid brands with last long products. In the service vans we also carry ridgid pro boxes with spare parts and cleaning products, this boxes are cheap and customizables, we also do a few low voltage services so they are great for power tools, network cable, etc

for me the best bit about the Veto Pro Pac Tech Pac MC bad is the hard plastic bottom. in my decade of using back pack bags its always the bottom that wears out.

i got the smaller one but there is a bigger version that has tool section in both front and rear but realistically these days excluding my laptop and cleaning supplies i could carry my tools in a pencil case

Those excessive, repetitive small slots are such a pet peeve of mine with tool pallets. Different nut-driver sizes I guess? but so wasteful for my needs.

I use a Milwaukee Tools backpack, holds all my tools, meter, cleaning fluids, laptop, even keep all my feed tires in there. Using the backpack with the weight evenly distributed has helped with back problems, knees, hips etc because I'm not leaning like a drunken toddler carrying a tool bag.
