    [Misc] Bizhub 9 series

    Good Day All,

Working on the 9 series machines, open right side door below the fuser to the left side, screw onto front frame is a silver "tool/jig". Does ANYBODY know what this is used for. I attached two pictures, hope they came thru.

Thanks in advance if someone knows what it's for.

Were I to take a guess, I'd think it was a fuser alignment jig. Many manufacturers have struggled with getting the fuser aligned just right ... I'll be interested in the answers. =^..^=

EDIT: It doesn't have a name or description in the parts manual, but there it is:
It's not mentioned in the mechanical adjustments section ... or any other part of the service manual.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Curious indeed. At the end of the parts manual there is a section for jigs right above accessory parts. I do not have that manual. Would be good to have a name on it.
      Whatever

        For the record,

I have been working on KM for over 30+ years. I have been thru the service and parts manuals completely and only mention of it is a picture in the parts book with no information about it. I have sent this to several techs who work for KM and they don't know also. It is a big mystery. One tech thinks it's for T/S belt adj, another for reg roller. My thinking is for laser or skew adjustment. There are a lot of good/ old school techs looking for an answer. If no one here knows and I ever find out I will post it.

This is good call. EarthKM where are you?
