...I'm a bit confused, with this message...because it appears on the display of the fiery, not like this on the machine, looking at the command workstation, it appears the same way. I disabled the fiery as a test and I get to print without problems, which makes me think that the fiery requires D1 maintenance, but what is it?

nope, fiery has nothing to do with it at all.
most of the time just opening and closing the doc feeder clears the d1 error.
best bet, remove glass, slit glass and clean both sides.
also make sure both white reference sheets on the doc feeder the scanners use are clean and nick free.
ive gotten lucky with staple damage by sanding smooth and using white-out on the void areas.

any error shown on fiery may just be a residual that hasnt cleared yet.
if there is no wrench with a D1 on the copiers screen then the fiery message can be ignored.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
        The medication helps though...

Go to service mode in upper left you should see oil can click on it and you should see D-1 warning. If yes usually doing what Synt said took care of it.

thanks for the help, I'll check it as you tell me, I can deduce then that the fiery has a problem, that it won't let me print and the message (maintenance required) has nothing to do with it!

ive seen it when there is a consumable warning and it wont print.
is there any other consumable that may be over life?
if no active D1 on copier (oil can or wrench warning) reboot the fiery, so when it "polls" the copier no D1 will be presented.
              turn off consumable warnings.
in CWS failed prints are usually highlighted pink. can you check the properties of a "pink" job and see why it didnt print.

Another thing you can check is to open the web connection. If it's a machine issue being reported to the Fiery then you should see the same warning in page scope. There is no "maintenance" on the Fiery other than patches and upgrades. This is also still an issue with MACs getting end of life messages that are not displayed on the machine. E

Thanks, everything turned out as you said, D1 solved with cleaning glass and the problem of freezing the fiery, also solved with cleaning and thermal paste.
