There is no sign of any damage, the prints that are produced in the area thats faded are perfectly in focus.

Synthohol is one of the most knowledgeable and respected techs on here. I'm just sayin'....


PS - The fix that he is aking you to try doesn't sound like it'd be that much work. Give it a try.

if you dont mind, just for shits and giggles, lift heavily on the front left corner of the scanner and make a full size color copy.
ive seen scanner beds bent or trapazoided causing that image you first posted.
just a hunch.

Will do, I have a c308 I can rob parts from, or it that the only suggestion?

if some point in the mirror/carriage isnt lined up exactly ive seen that. even when its off by 1/16" where the naked eye would never see.
it was just a harmless suggestion to try.
