Solved..The user guide is wrong depending on where you look..Personal boxes are only supported with User Authentication. Not a feature of Account track. You have to look at the user box rules to see this..E

Kind of would make sense then to include the setup of that personal user box under the the user or account registration.

Everything you said is true, but in my case I am trying to create a personal box, one that is associated with the account track or authentication registered user. My issue is the choice for personal box is not available as it should be with some type of authentication enabled. I can create public and system user boxes all day long. On my device, the Personal Box choice is a blank area between Group and System.

first off make sure the HDD is working, you do not need any account track or user authentication to make a user box, just a working HDD.
a user box is just that, if you assign a password then its a personal user box. no password or a box under public makes it a public user box.
i dont understand your terminology maybe.

According to the KM user guide/service manual, I should be able to create a personal user box as long as account track or user authentication is ON. There are a couple of other caveats that may disable this feature (vender 2, allow user box creation OFF) I only have Public or Group as a choice. I can see a space where personal would be, but its blank. Going into the user box on the main screen shows the same think..the selection in this location is missing as well. Any idea why I can't create a personal user box? TIA
