Hi and thanks to everyone in advance.I have worked on KM products since they were just Minolta. We have a couple of 4's that just don't add toner all of a sudden.The really odd part is we are not getting any codes for the deficiency(c-255?).Is their a perfect storm that can allow this to happen. I have a 224e b/w doing this as well as a c554e doing it only on yellow/cyan. Any and all advice would be appreciated. We don't want to just throw parts at it.

These older models are getting to an age where they can have toner hopper issues, white bushings, etc.Comment

It's good to have some spare machines so you can take used parts from! That's how we do it mostly to keep the cost lower.
Also depends on the client and the occasion, some clients might want to pay for a new part/unit so that's what you give them but if the machine is getting old you probably wouldn't want to put new parts as it will come to a point that the old copier will have to be replaced with a newer model.Comment

I recently had this issue, it was related to the toner hopper / white bushings, luckily i had an old junker to steal parts off. Try following some of the steps in this thread:

I use oem supplies and have replaced bushings and motor. I just don't know how it allowed it to become so under toned and not code or ask to replace toner..Comment

There is also a cotton bushing at the opposite end of the white bushing in the front on the same auger.
replace both as it well bind eventually at the back.
