Konica I series replace control panel C3350i C4050i

On the i series if you replace the control panel you will end up with a C-C164 code and firmware cannot be updated but instead shows firmware error.

Obviously the swapping of the panel caused the code, there must be a procedure when replacing that tft display or any other peripheral hardware but I have not managed to find it on MyKonicaMinolta.com. Advice appreciated.

    This is really annoying.
For example what if you have brand new machine with scanner smashed and another one with broken touch panel. Why not borrow working panel from scanner smashed machine to repair other machine?!

Btw I have swapped control panel from bizhub 4050i to another new one with broken panel and it worked without a hitch.

Yes, it's super annoying. Why they would make it difficult to simply swap out a control panel with a used one from the same model is hard to understand.

I'm positive they have panel firmware for C250i series, any chance you need to update it to certain level to match machine?

That possibility crossed my mind also. The used panel might be running a different fw version than the broken one. Or maybe it's just a serial number mismatch.

Think it's because the counters are stored in a few different places and the control panel is one of them. Perhaps there is a small eprom with machine info that can be swapped from bad control panel to the other. If it was me I would call Hytec Dealer Services and ask for Kon/Min tech support, they will have the answer for this.
