    Banding on my Magenta

    Hi all,

I have a Konica Bizhub C550. Had it for 6 months now. Works great but recently I noticed some banding on my prints. I have attached a photo of what I mean. I narrowed it down and concluded that the banding came from Magenta. I did a Magenta file from photoshop (full page 12% magenta, 0% on C,Y,K) and noticed these strange banding marks. No bandings on Cyan, Yellow and Black.

    What could be the problem?

The banding pitch would possibly imply that the iu has gone south... have u tried an alternate one?

    Regards!

I just checked, it reads almost full on Cyan, Magenta and Yellow, with only one bar remaining each.

I had a very similar problem recently, with yellow instead of magenta, and it was a defective IU.

How much life you have left on each unit has nothing to do with the IU being bad. An IU can be bad out of the box new. Change the magenta IU.

Banding is from a whooped IU, replace it.
