    [Jamming] Olivetti d-color MF-254 (=Konica Bizhub xxx?)

    Hello,

    I've got an Olivetti d-color MF-254 copier

I had a two-sheet paper jam that I did not correct quickly.

The copier did not sleep and was waiting for me to remove the jam.

    IMG_20230826_160440.jpg

After one night, the copier on, I removed the jammed paper.

Since then I have a paper jam error message even though I removed everything. I checked the sensors and the absence of pieces of paper but the error persists.

    IMG_20230826_160446.jpg

I tried a reset, it didn't change anything.

Could I have damaged the sensors?

    Thanks for your help.

I entered the service mode and checked the sensors.
Can someone tell me wich one is faulty?

    Thanks

I think jam code is 3003

Now you've got a usable piece on intel.

        The d-color MF-254 is a Konica Minolta xx8 series.

        Here are some possibilities:
*heavy toner buildup on fuser inner exit guide
        *defective exit sensor PS3
        *worn or damaged fuser rollers
        *paper remains in the fuser

        It's #2 in the diagram.
In the sensor test "1" means blocked.

        See the attachments:
Please excuse my waiting you out. Sometimes we get endusers looking for a solution on a silver platter, and don't want to do any of the work associated. =^..^=30-03.jpgPS3.jpg
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I think I took the wrong pictures of my sensor check, here are the good ones.

            The PS3 sensor seems working.
I'll look for the other possibilities

I opened and cleaned the fuser unit. It looks fine and no paper seems to remain.

                  Re: Olivetti d-color MF-254 (=Konica Bizhub xxx?)

I think I’m confusing sensors, could you help me find the PS3?

I looked the diagram and I think it's this one. Isn't it ?

                  Can I test it ?
Is it called "Paper Exit 2" in sensor check?

                  My photo is #18 here Parts Catalog > Konica-Minolta > bizhub 458e > page 50
                  They call it "actuator"

                    Re: Olivetti d-color MF-254 (=Konica Bizhub xxx?)

You want #12 called Photointerrupter (A5C1M50100). Unless it's physically worn or broken, the actuator should be fine. The last two digits of the part number may vary, depending on the version (that's how the manufacturer identifies updated parts). Yes that's the one in your photo. And since it resides right over the fuser it can become intermittent, due to exposure to heat. =^..^=

                      I confirm, PS3 is dead.
I switched both sensors to test it.
Now I need to find a photointerrupter quickly

Do you have a reseller to recommend to me?
I found an American seller but the shipping cost twice the price of the part

Did you look at the characters printed on the photointerrupter? Is it a type: "SG"? Can you get a photo of it to see the characters?

Many of us have a "collection" of lightly used photointerrupters accumulated over the years.

                          It's 6824 SG.
It would be great if anyone had a used sensor as I can't find one at the moment.

                            Hope you got my PM

PS40 (1st duplex sensor) is activated.
Possible causes: piece of paper on actuator, broken actuator, spring out of place, faulty sensor.

For location of PS40, see the attachments.

Take off reversal unit and disassemble. PS40 is inside the unit; in the middle; behind PS3.
                            It's not that hard.

                            Good luck!
