    C368 main drive assembly

    Hi all
Has anyone tried installing the main drive unit from a C368 into a C284e? The look the same but the part numbers are different.
    Thanks

They are different the assembly, well here anyway. We attempted this years ago and it was not interchangeable. I cannot remember what the difference was now sadly.

what is/was the problem, if the dev drive gear is worn, it's a 5 minute job to replace it - i don't replace the drives, i take them apart & change the gear
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

Funny story. The machine is in a tight alcove and for some reason is plugged into a UPS, which when I first arrived thought was a surge protector. So when the fuser cycled the UPS would complain with a whining noise and in that tight alcove sounded like it was coming from the machine. Luckily I was able to figure that out before I got too deep into the machine. I at first suspected main drive because the whining seemed to coincide with the dev turning.
