i series reset CE password

hello,

i got one second hand 246i copier, found the CE password changed and cannot entet service mode.
i checked admin setting don't have CE password setting, on got CE password request code, entered it but still displayed enter password screen.

how to solve it?

Not sure what model a 246i is but have you tried all these common passwords:

Try with reset tool a789be. That will reset any CE password

i tried it, after press trouble reset key, it need me enter CE password by using 10 key pad.

Its the same as when you update firmware. Follow instructions on service manual to know how update firmware, but use this file instead firmware files.

I tried these passwords but no work, data initialized with a789be.tar and installed F/W again, same result.

Have method enter service mode directly? ( bypass CE password procedure or disable it on admin mode )

I am unfamiliar with a 246i, however on the c360i series and possibly others, there is a known issue with the CE password change and being unable to access service mode. First you need to do the CE password reset procedure as outlined in this PDF. CE Password Reset Procedure.pdf

The next step is to follow this procedure which involves a data clear. Cannot Access Service Mode After CE Password Reset.pdf

When you do the password reset procedure, it should take you straight into service mode, according to the first pdf. At that point you should be able to change/reset the CE password.

Make sure the codes you enter for the reset are spelled correctly/ proper characters. There are other people on this site that may be able to help you with the reset codes.

I only can login on normal user with email address and provided password, but login admin menu it need another user ID and password. How to register the administrator?

The machine was probably initially setup with bizhub secure and administrator lock to prevent anyb unauthorized changes and they then also changed the CE password also to prevent service mode access in the name of security.

To unlock admin you must enter enhanced security mode but until you solve the CE password issue and gain access to service mode, you will be unable to accomplish that administrator unlocking issue or anything else.

I'm surprised the backdoor access to service mode thru the trouble reset screen doesn't let you in.

As to those reset files, they seem to work ok on the 4 and 8 series but in my opinion do not always perform as is expected on the i series and sometimes cause more problems than they solve. Especially on the machines that were initially setup as bizhub secure.

But I solve CE password issue, must enter admin mode of LMS website first.
I don't know the admin ID and password.
