    PDF scan version

    Hello everyone

    I have a client with multiple bizhub c458 and they are asking us if it is possible to change or specify the PDF version that is created when you send a scan from the device .

    It appears any Konica aside from rebadged lexmark devices will not let you change the version from 1.4. The customer needs 1.5 minimum for it to function properly with some software on site.

    The other mfp we deal with allow for this to be changed on the device.

    Any thoughts?

      see if LK-102 increases the PDF version.

          I looked at an i-series earlier that has the OCR option, but it doesn't have anything beyond some settings for PDF/A. It will scan to V1.4 regardless.

          I have a few law firms with those option kits installed - I can probably get them to test a document for me in the morning.

              I can only think of fooling with PDF/A-1a and PDF/A-1b; however they are both based on 1.4; however, PDF/A-2 is v1.7 based (but to my knowledge not supported).

              What type of ancient software are they using?! v1.4 is from 2001 and forward compatible with v1.5 introduced in 2003 and all other versions. None of the following additions in 1.5 should effect scans (we can debate):

              All that aside, the solution should be a simple as just open the PDF and "save as" a newer version (depending of the volume is suppose).
              I am sure they wont like this simple task....
