Biz C224e to C454e toner hopper swap?

Is the toner hopper assembly the same for the C224e & C454e? I know the toner btls are different and wont fit but has anyone swapped the top toner holder part and were able to use bottom hopper between models? The part #'s for complete assembly are different but don't know if this is only because toner btls are different.

Also will the C224 "NON E" toner supply hoppers work in the "E" models?

    Thanks in advance

I can't confirm but I think if you swap top part it should work.

C224(e) bottles have no toner chip, C454(e) bottles do have. The cap of the bottle is different too.
Also c224 and c224e have the same toner hopper.

I second the notion that the slower lower hopper should work in a 45.

        Toner side notes:
During supply shortages we provided TN324 (for 25/30/36 8 series) that come with chip to TN321 machines (for 25/30/36 4/4e series). We just removed the chip and shaved the chip holder smooth. We could do that bc our compatible provider's end caps were identical. For OEM you would have to trade end caps or further modify the caps, but point is, the 8 toners worked fine in the 4e's.

We've had several C558 toner hopper sensors get dirty & indicate full, so the bottle never turns. You can have a full toner in but hopper is empty on arrival & near zero ATDC level (TCR%). Take the opportunity to blow the sensors clean if you're in there. DV units recover and run fine.

After years of using a certain compatible with good results, we recently experienced random C2558 high K toner codes. We've changed to KTN. Cleaner filters, less dust on the lasers and no random C2558 codes. Every time we got C2558, regardless of replacing the OEM drum and/or DV unit, it came back. We vac. the toner hopper, install KTN toner & it never comes back.
