    C-454e, "original left on glass"...

I read all the other posts on this issue on this board, but none of them seem to address the initialization of those sensors under the glass? Went looking for it in the SM as well, and could not find it there, only a way to enable/disable that function in the Admin mode...

    Thanks,
    OC

No way OC. I usually redo Adf setup make sure non image erase is OK, clean optics and CCD. That's working probably 99%.

And make sure the magnet in the DF lines up with the reed switch under the front scanner cover

I had one a while back. If you reboot copier and never open scanner you could use adf ok. The moment you opened scanner from that point on it was convinced there was a A3 sheet detected. I replaced both size sensors and that fixed it

Cleaning the underside of the platen glass helped me often with this problem.
Even when looking “clean” there seems to be something which can be polished off.

OK, so I went out there today, cleaned the optics and both sides of the glass, cleaned the actuator sensor in the rear, checked the front magnet, and then everything started working OK.

Thanks for the all the help guys!
