    DealerTrack software printing to C-360i

Has anyone tried to set up a Konica C360i series machine as a printer using DealerTrack software? It's used by car dealerships to print repair orders, service orders and the like. We tried installing one at a dealership that does about 200k per year on the machine since their Lexmarks and Kyocera's were not able to handle the volume. Printing was successful from every normal application (Word, PDF's, etc.) but will not "work" with this software. The software people told us that although they have an approved list of printers it will work with, it should actually be able to print to almost any printer but don't guarantee that it will. Apparently to print their documents (repair orders and such) it loads some part in the memory of the machine (their logo, address, etc.) and then adds that to the information the dealership enters into the work order when they tell it to print. We told the IT people to use the Konica PCL6 driver and they were going to install on each PC separately, not on a server. The only suggestion from the software people was to try a different driver. They use a third party IT company (remotely) and between the software people and the IT company they have been unsuccessful in getting it to work. I've heard from their former IT person who used to be on site that they know of another company using Ricoh equipment with similar software that works fine. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar application or experience that could give us suggestions. We hate to have to get them back into the "expensive to run" cheaper Lexmark machines. Thanks for any and all ideas!

Re: DealerTrack software printing to C-360i

i have installed new machines at so many doctor offices and the software they use has no idea there is a new printer and trying to install it to the software.
it is up to their software provider to make it work, not you. thats why they pay maintainence for that software. i dont think its your problem.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...
