Konica Minolta C250i - scanning to SMB

hi guys,

had a couple of machines lately that will not scan to HOSTAME of the PC but will scan to IP address instead,

at one site we have x5 users set up to scan to SMB folder on the C drive x4 work with HOSTNAME but ones doesnt unless we input IP address,

the machines are on the latest firmware, the DNS details are defiantly correct, the firewall isnt blocking the transmission, when i try to ping the HOSTNAME from the machine it fails to connect (works with IP) we have tried adjusting the NTLM settings,

The error we get is 'server connection error'

is there anything else to check?

It isn't most complete explanation but may give you some directions.

Is the hostname unique in the network?
Is the pc one time per LAN and another time per WLAN connected?
How often does the connection change (PC gets new IP and router-table is not updated fast enough)?

You could try a public DNS like Cisco's 208.67.222.222

as well as "Server connection error" do you get a network error code - though some of the SMB network error codes don't give much of an indication
