Hey guys...
So, because I rebuild stuff in my shop for the KM products, I've been buying parts online from Chinese suppliers. And - as you might expect - sometimes you get a dud, but can easily modify it to work, if its feasible.
The picture that I attached is from a Doc Feeder separation assy/roller. You guys have probably replaced tons of these over the years. But when I bought the last set of rollers, customers started to complain that they would double-feed, a LOT... Found out that the generic roller was made JUST a little bit too short on the boss side that contacts the frame of the holder (black plastic).
I found that I had to install a spacer washer between the roller and the frame, because the roller being too short was allowing it to separate from the torque/dfp bearing, and spin freely on its own. This mod keeps the roller and the hub connected and allows the roller to only turn slightly, where before, it will free roll all on its own.
If you get any of these rollers from China directly, you'll have this same issue, evidently.
Hope this helps someone!
