I have a Ikon CPP 650 (bizhub PRO 1050). I have attached the SD-501 and plugged it into the machine and power. How do I get the machine to find it? I don't have the pass code to service mode.
Thanks Scott
A CPP650 is the equivilent to a Konica Minolta C6500 (colour printer) and you can't plug a SD-501 into a C6500 without a RU-502\501. This an interface between the engine and the accessory as the finisher is designed for a 1050.
Also if the SD-501 is off an 1050 it won't have firmware compatable for the CPP650 and there is a dip-sw on the back of the SD-501 control board to tell the machine that it is being attached to a CPP650 not a 1050.
If infact this is a CPP650 and you have plugged the SD-501 directly into the engine then I would say one or the other is now damaged.
One more thing the early versions of SD-501 aren't compatable at all with the c6500. You would need the serial number of the finisher to ascertain this.
If you still have the monstrosity (sorry, but I hate this peripheral) and are looking to get rid of it, let me know - I have a customer who wants one - no matter how much I try to dissuade him from it.
I just love that bundle-press section, what a lovely concept - I just wish that Japanese engineer who thought of that one hanged himself with those infernal pulley wires.
