hdd failure/ corruption. needs replcement /reload of hdd in firey. -

I have never reload a HDD .
How can i proceed for reloading ?
I must try first ,to reload it.
Then, if i can not make it , i will try to replace it. It contains any informations?Or i just replace it ,as at any computer ?
I have change a lot of HDD at computers , but never at a fierry, so i am sorry for my lack of specific knowledges. In the service manual do i find any informations ?
