    C12C0 Hard disk recognition error
Unable to communicate between the hard disk and MFP Control Board (PWB-MFP).
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

        thanks

Thanks for the help - does there need to be any software loaded on the HD? or just a pre-formatted hd for a laptop?

I am not a technician - but have computer skills

        Thanks

Fresh out of the box, then you need to format it through the copier.

We find that enhanced IDE drives don't work ! Has anyone else had that problem ?

We are using Toshiba 40gb drives, let me know what you are using.

            Regards

Never looked, I plug a part # into my computer and a couple days later I get a 40gig.

Maybe this is the answer to why the last 2 I tried in a 8031 didn't work????

I've tried this in the past with dismal results. I think it was on an embedded fiery controller....... Found the original drive had a password protected configuration profile. Finally gave up and purchased the 10x overpriced OEM drive.
