    C6500 Firmware

Hi I just purchased a SD-501 for a C6500. Problem is that it came loaded with the 1050 firmware. I have addressed the dipswitches all ready and the mainframe is loaded with V50. It is an Ikon CPP650 with RU-504 and LS-501 in front of it. Can anyone direct or share with me the proper firmware for this accessory. KM only has mainframe v30 on it website only. I have entered the serial into the mainframe. Bottom line the unit is not showing up and if it is connected the LS-501 and RU-504 stop working. Thanks

I now have the most current firmware, however I am trying to install via the usb service port on the copier and continue to get unrecognized media. It's formated FAT32 and as well all the directories are per service manual. What am I missing here? I have tried a 256MB and a 2GB flash drive.

you must change hardware dipsw and disconect-or connect a CN.

          depends from S/N of SD

I use an old usb1 128MB stick and haven't had a problem, but I do remember being told that they can be quite fussy. You could always try using the ISW tool and a usb cable

ISW Trans never fails. It a little more complicated but it worth the effort. On Pro 1050, ISW is the only option, but on C6500 you should good results with USB stick, check the root folder that contains the firmware to be named properly.

Ok so I pick up a new trusted 1Gb usb and sure enough we have recognition. However.... when I run the update I get a 102 error, which is USB hardware error according to manual. Is this just one f-ing picky machine? I am still looking into the SD-501 not being recognized still. Dip switch is correct according to manual at 1 on and 2,3 and 4 off for C6500. I have hooked directly to RU-504 to. Any thoughts....

try starting the unit while holding the utility key down.

It just above cn19. I read that was for flashing 1050 only. Do I connect cn19 jumper and leave dips as is 1 off 2,3,4 on?

There is a SN thing with SD units and the 1050 / C6500. Sounds like your attempts with firmware are right but you may need a new main board for the SD unit to make it compatible with the color machine. Sorry I do not have any more information as my company only deals with the color box. Have seen this before from a dealer in our network.
