when making a copy using auto exposure i notice on the the manual exposure scale the lighter notch closet to the end is marked. on other copiers this can be accomplished when the copies are needed lighter or darker by holding down the auto exp button till the manual display marker starts blinking then can be moved to a darker or lighter setting. how is it moved on this copier. i want to put the setting in the center???

Clean the optics, dust settles on the mirrors and when it scans in AES(auto exposure setting) it selects a lighter setting to compensate for the dirty optics, remove the glass and clean the mirrors.......good luck
