looks like ether ram or the pwb-mfp. in service mode there is a memory test that should narrow it down. If you replace the mfp you will need to flash the firmware to match the rest of the boards in the machine.

How do I flash the firmware if I'm not an "Authorized Dealer" or whatever. I can flash the firmware for just about anything in this building from the phone system to VoIP phones, but the copier stuff is just not available to the public. (Probably with good reason.)

Unfortunately you will have to call a certified KM rep to do this for you.

Though it is relatively an easy process to perform, it involves special software to program a CF card which is then plugged into the machine. The firmware level can also bring with it some minor issues...for example, new factory release firmware levels on the machine would require two different versions of firmware to update to current levels...I've only encountered this problem a couple times...but then, most of the machines I service get regular updates when I service them, so that is a rarity. There is also special firmware releases to address unique needs and issues. Both the firmware and the CF programming software are strictly controlled by KM. And to make issues more interesting, is that not all CF cards will work...they need to be between 128Mb to 256Mb and be of certain brands, not all brands will function. It's a bit of a crap shoot on that one, my office spent a lot of money trying an assortment of them from different sources...

As I said, you are better off having a tech come out to deal with this.
