[Dead] C451 C-2161 error

Ive got a c451 with the error codes C-2161 & C-2164 alternating.

Could it really be as simple as a faulty magenta imaging unit? I've never ever come accross this on any machine before.

I'll be going back to site with a full set of ius, a HV board and a printer control board regardless on monday to nut it out.

Hopefully someone has had this before to put my mind at ease.

for anyone interested, the fault was indeed the magenta IU.

once a new one was installed problem disappeared.

upon inspection of the IU, a single human hair was inside the charge unit touching between the charge unit housing and the needle electrode - not that it matters it went straight in the bin thereafter. so theres no way a multimeter would of detected that short.

2164 error

I have replaced 4 ius but the code keeps coming back... any suggestions? I'm thinking of replacing HV1...kindly help...thanks

if all 4 ius are new and you have reset the code and it keeps comming back the lower hv board and then printer control board are the next steps.

just make sure its not something stupid like damaged hv contacts in the back of the machine too.

having removed that lower hv board, i can tell you, your in for a fun job

Its not the upper one, no that'd be too easy
