    I am getting totally black copies using the doc feeder as well as off the glass. The lamp does come on. If I turn the machine off and back on it will work for a day or two and then the black copies return. Occasionally I will get black copies off the glass and through the feeder works.

      We had this once. Reseating the ribbon cable Optics>Electronics solved the problem.
