Internet fax is basically scan to email but it puts the fax header on the page so when it is printed it looks like it has come out of a fax machine.

PEpper38_cnd is right for the basics of it , but there's a bit more to it. You have to have a G4 capable fax for the sender and receiver. these faxes are on the network with access to the internet. the scanned doc is sent via internet to the receiver. Much faster than analog phone line and no long distance fee. This came way before scan to email was readily available and is rarely seen anymore.

Some manufactures (Toshiba for 1) required the same product on both ends in order to be successfull. Emujo

OK, thank you for answering. Internet fax using POP3 protocol for receiving email/internet fax. Is that right?
