Re: Bizhub C550 wierd print issue odd shape outlined in white in the center of images
You guys were totally right. I took look at the transfer assembly and there was a piece of a label or something stuck to it. I peeled it off and there is still some residue so I am wondering what I can use to clean it off the will not damage the belt. Any ideas?

i've used alcohol (90%) and clean cotton with good success - just dont rub too hard and wipe it again with a clean dry cloth afterwards and you should be fine

Glass cleaner, the spray stuff not the cream! Spray onto a cloth made into a pad, get it quite wet then wipe the belt to remove residue let the belt dry and it should be OK.... Or charge user for a belt?

Get yourself a small bottle of lamp oil (paraffin). It loosens adhesive nicely without damaging transfer belts, drums, guides, rollers, plastics, ... anything. Sure, it's slightly flammable but you shouldn't be smoking anyway. I evaporates quickly leaving no residue. It's miraculous. I used to use Dispersant until it became obsolete. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Well now I've done it. Apparently I did not get all the adhesive off last time and the spot started to come back, so I cleaned it will the paraffin and followed up with glass cleaner. Now when I print the whole image is really dark and on elements with a white background the white background prints Yellow.
What have I done? All I did was clean the belt. I didn't touch anything else. I have tried running several hundred blank sheets just to see if there was some residue that would clean up, but no dice.
Top of the photo shows how it looks now, bottom is what it looked like before.

thanks for the reply.
It seems to be ok now. After waiting a couple of hours I ran a test print and it looks fine. There must have been some residue that needed to evaporate.

Are we being PUNKED? First the picture that anyone who's been servicing color machines for more than 10 minutes would reconize as a lable on the transfer belt. Followed by where is the Transfer Belt. Now how do I do Gradation? What's next? How do I get into service mode? Even Paul didn't take the bait and offer him a Service Manual!
