DI 650 - Charging grid MANUAL adjusment

    Good Morning Guys
Instrucctions say the grid should be adjusted MANUALY according to the value on the flange of the drum + - 5Volt.
And that the range of input is 0 to 255

The value we read in the flange of our drum is 744.

Aparently we are not understanding the instrucctions on the service manual because we cant do this adjusment MANUALY

    Thank you for your help

Why do you need to manually adjust this? It is the first step? I never adjust this. Just do the other steps and all will be fine.

This is what we call a DFW.
      Stands for "Don't Fool With"
      Run the auto adjustments.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

This adjustmemt is in 36 mode. Go to 36 mode and select Process Adjustment. Select High Voltage Adjustment. Then select HV adj. (charging grid voltage). Under the brown drum cover is a grid pin that looks like a silver coin. Press start in this adjustment and measure voltage at this grid pin. Adjust using keypad to set the right voltage. This should be done everytime you replace the drum. Unless the voltage on the new drum is somewhat close to the old drum.

The grid needs to be set according to the tag on the new drums flange when ever you replace a drum. You may also want to do a thread search for the drum ground mod and the bias mod as these are the key to keeping the toner puking monsters under control, since we re-did all ours at PM and put on the mods they are kicking some serious butt!
