    C353 email scan settings?

Set up lots of machines but this one is giving us fits! Put all the settings in we normally do and it either says server connection fail or login fail. I can use same settings in an outlook client and works perfect. Also noticed once in a while we go back in and check settings and the machine admin email address is gone!

    Any thoughts?

I don't know if this is relevant in your case or not. But since you mentioned the Admin Email address I will say it. I have seen on that series if you have AccountTrack or Authentication enabled and at some point disable it. The machine locks up the Admin settings and causes some strange issues ( enven if the account track or authentication is re-enabled.). The main indication that this has occurred is the Admin Email cannot be changed or is greyed out in the web browser. A full NIC initialization will solve the issue. Note when I experienced this, the call was for the machine would email notifications but not scan to email, or visa-versa I can't remember which.

Is this reset in tech mode or just the reset in admin mode?

      Thanks

My success was reset network settings to factory default in admin mode and then DHCP to ON on everything and after that changing to static if required. Then the rest > DNS 1, 2 (if wasn't picked up) > SMTP > Authentication > etc
if that failed , then I would use the NV ram jig and do JUST NIC reset there. But try first the Admin if you haven't got the NV RAM jig.

habik is correct. The easiest way is through the Web Browser Admin --> Network--> Reset --> NIC Data Clear

Make sure you back up address book ect. before doing this.

I would try a data clear in service mode. It will clear email settings and I have used it to fix quirky issues. Be sure to export address book before performing a data clear. System 1- initialization- data clear.
You will have to "install" the HDD and re-set fax marketing area if fax installed.
            Hope this helps.

It works If we manually go in and set the from address to the admin but it won't auto choose the admin address, it uses and address we can't even locate in the machine!

Have you filled in the machine address field in pagescope? It won't hold if you just enter it at the time of scanning.

Copier addict was right on. DATA Clear was the ONLY way we could get it to clear the admin username and be able to write a new one.

                  Way to go!
