Offset sorting without a finisher

Hi Guys,

In the old days we used to call this CrissCross sorting. This is where the machine has A4 landscape and portait in different trays. You ask the C220 to 'offset' (CrissCross) but it doesn't do it. Simply pulls everthing from the top tray. Nothing has changed on the machine and has been working fine doing this for the past 3 years. We have flashed it to D2 and formatted the HDD. But not too sure where to go from here.
What do my colleagues on here have to say about it?

Offset is not Rotate Sort. If you:
1) select Collate
2) de-select Offset
3) Load A4 and A4-R to adjoining trays.
4) media type on both trays set to plain
5) select 2 or more sets
6) no finisher installed (internal or external)

... then it will Rotate Sort.
