Have had this code numerous time in the past, and have usually been able to resolve it either through hardware, or firmware, but this time I am at a brick wall. Original tech went out to look at a fuser jam issue. He replaced fuser drive motor and 2nd transfer roller. On initial power up MFP threw the C-E301 error. Thought he may have induced something so I have spent the better part of 3 days trying to resolve this. We have replaced 2 MFP boards (new, and used, used was added with the initialize tool). SSD, memory, and HDD. No matter what we try, it will get past the splash screen, copier screen pops up for about 1 sec and then into C-E301 code. Self test runs with all OK. Have tried numerous firmware levels including J5 (or is it J6). Running w/o accessories, with, w/o HDD. No change. Anybody run into a hard CE301 that you were able to finally resolve? Emujo

Re: C-E301
When C-E301 occur, and then C-E002 may occur after the machine rebooting or turning the main switch off and on. Symptom:
When sending IPaddressFAX to multiple destinations by multi-address transmission, C-E301 may occur if the machine fails to send one of destinations, and then C-E002 may occur after the machine rebooting or turning the main switch off and on.
Note)
This bugfix is rolled out from C754 seriesSolution This problem has been fixed on the FW version GC9-F9 onwards. Comment

Re: C-E301
Well, this is fixed, turned out to be a mixture of a poorly seated connector for the transport motor, and a bad MFP board. During the firmware update process both the MFP and Printer showed NG. Had to use the original MFP board to load the printer firmware, then the new MFP board to reload the MFP firmware. Applied the "cleansing tool" and system came up. Did have to do a complete init and re-setup entire MFP, but this seems to have done the trick. Additionally, when I re-attached the finisher for testing, the MFP started generating finisher ROM error codes. Check sum in the firmware screen was 0000. Wouldn't accept new firmware, so I had to replace the finisher main board along with all the other work. All told, about 6-8 hours to get through this. Re: C-E301
Don't you love KM? When you have a firmware related problem, it's a douzie, and it's never isolated to just one board. Like a virus it seems to infect the whole organism. Thanks for sharing. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
