Format your USB stick, Fat 32 in Windows & only copy the .TAR file to the root

The thumb drive should be between 2 and 8gb (although I have used larger ones). The file has to be on the root of the drive, not in a separate folder. I find it works best if there isn't anything else on the thumb drive besides the firmware.
                Hope this helps.

                      Try unchecking "quick format"

                        hi, everyone

i'm using service port, and the USB 2.0 stick is between 1GB to 4GB of different make.

firmware copied in root drive of USB, but again machine showing invalid memory.

TO see if the machine likes the USB stick just put it in the slot by the operation panel. I know you cant update the firmware this way, but the machine will either bring up the external memory screen or you will have a little red x through an icon on the display panel. If you have the red x than you need to find another stick...different manufacturer than what you've been trying. There really isn't any rhyme or reason to these things. I have best luck with corsair and Kingston....doesn't matter the size of them. I've had success with 2-128gb
Everyone has the right to be stupid. Some people just abuse this privelage more than others
