    Bizhub 654e from C9401 to CD291

C9401 Basically points to no lamp, but illuminates. Several in field popping this code now. Tech support suggests CCD as of late. I did a reseat of CCD & scanner connections (yes unplugged) & now lamp doesn't home or illuminate. Throws CD291 now. Error not in manual & support has me on long hold! Anyone seen CD291?

Yes sir! Corrected today with our corporate trainer. Large account has had four of these go at same time... all b&w 654e's.
Where did you copy that from? Manual?
Is that the read me attached to latest K1 Firmware? CD291 is not a documented code in service manual, even KM assist did not know it! C9401 will start intermittent the eventually hard! CD291 appears after CCD change out, mine happened after doing some mere resetting of connectors, made no sense!!!

I'll be a sob.. tech support & I both made the same mistake (though i told him was an "e" box), we didn't utilize the "e" service manual! CD291 is in fact only in the "e" manual!
        I stand corrected sir ;-)

Any success with the CCD? Is there a scanner calibration required? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I actually pulled it from the C654E manual but it should be the same.

We have had a lot of intermittent C9401 errors and the fix is to replace the CCD.
The firmware needs to be re written after installing the CCD and as you have found apparently after disconnecting.
All machines we have replaced the CCD on for C9401 have not returned.
