    fs-534 j72-17

I am having issues with a few different bizhub models connected to fs-534 finishers.
The jam code is J72-17, paper is cutting the plastic paddles in the staple/ejector section. I have replaced the paddles on a finisher connected to a BH C554 with several hundred thousand prints but today ran into a c754e with just 69k on it. This is a very recent install but the guides are already cut. I see no adjustments for centering the finisher and only 1 adjustment for the paddle distance which when adjusted makes it worse.
I adjusted tray 3 and 4 to try and centre them according to the marks on the trays. Couldn't make it jam on both Machines but the evidence is in the blue bin and jam codes.

    Anyone dealt with this?

    Thanks,
    Colin

I've seen it as low as 60K. My theory is that the paper positioning in the tray affects which side (front or back), will have the paper cuts. Logically you should be able to center the paper in the tray to minimize the paper cuts. The next time I see one, I'll try nudging the paper in the busiest tray away from the paper cuts. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I agree, I've tried to adjust the tray 3 and 4 (lct trays, built in) as centre as possible as these seem to be the primary source of the issue so far. Sad there seems to be no documentation on the centering procedure unless I have missed it,

I looked, and didn't see a centering procedure for the stapling tray regulator plates. If you find such a procedure I would be interested in hearing about it.

As a temporary fix I have had success with filing smooth the regulator plates where the paper cuts occur, and it seems to take longer to re-occur. It's not the most pleasant job to get to them, maybe 75 minutes beginning to end.

For those who haven't seen this, here are a few pix:

I found a bulletin that mentions j72-16 and j72-18 but had a mod that fits my issue. I add the mylars as my machine started to jam again on large runs. I took out both guide assemblies and they were both cut pretty good. Lucky I had a strip of mylar the exact width described. The part # of the mylar was A00J561000.

Here is a shot of my modded machine. Also turned off the Offset Feature in Printing Defaults.

First day of feedback, no jams. Users reported no issue, they run a large batch evey morning with about 2500 pages per day.

You need to remove the assemblies, takes about an hour to an hour and a half to complete.

Do you have the instructions to remove those?
