    [Dead] CF CARD BH-601/751

Has anyone ever replaced a CF card on these machines?

Mine started having issues when while turning power on it got stucked on the hourglass.
No HDD installed,FW it had on was ver.18.
If i reinstalled the data on the cf card it would work for 1,2 days to be honest i havent heard any
problem from them for like 8 months until yesterday with the same issue.
Ordered a new cf card but when i put it on the machine goes in the hourglass, the start button
blinks amber-blue for 5 secs and then it restarts and keeps on doing that loop.

    Thoughts?
I don't like the new copier I just bought. It says "put face down" but every time I do it, it blinds my eyes.

When you got the new CF card, did you follow the instructions? Did you put it in your laptop and format it? (Don't do that). Did you put base 10 firmware on it and then sequentially update the firmware to the latest version?

No i didnt format it(something about the vxformat i think?).
Also no i didnt update the fimware the way you say it to do cuz tech support said just "put it on and it should do".
Serves me right i guess for not RTFM.
Guess il try what you said and notify about the results.

There is a CF card recovery procedure! You need 601_recovery.exe and B601_CF_CARD_RECOVERY.pdf.

Just swapping with another machine would lock you out of admin mode.

        Allan.
        Whatever

i reformated the HD, i did this 601 recovery base procedure and seq updated firmware to ver 20.. customer still says onc/twice a week the BH601 freezes and says 50% memory used.. lockup. (has to power cycle)... this seems to be a common complaint that other BH601 seem to have, users just reboot and live with it i think...

could i have a bad card ? (like the "cutting of old files off it doesnt completely restore it ??)

          thx all!

A brand new CF card should have worked if the original CF card was corrupt. The new card should put the MFP back to Japanese language and no options installed. We routinely get "new" cards that really have been used and the tech screwed them up then just returned them as new. If a new card doesn't work, and the recovery process for a corrupt fails for you then you should be looking at a problem with memory or system board. Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

Unset the HDD and see what that does. If the customer does not use boxes or id&print it will still work and the HDD can be eliminated.

It does have a R/W test under "State Conformation" for the memory and the HDD.
