C35 scanner cable broken

I went to a C35 today, it had a message saying scanner locked, I thought it would just be the lever on the left but no, I saw under the glass the drive cable belt has snapped.
Looking at the parts manual it seems I have to order the complete optical unit, I can't just order the belt!?

Download the latest parts book. The part number is in that.

Thanks for the info.

i've quoted for the complete optical unit replacement in the hope that they will upgrade the machine!

How easy is it to fit a new optical unit or the belt!?

Download the latest parts book. The part number is in that.

Just downloaded the latest manual (May 2010) & it still doesn't show the drive cable as a part, only the optical unit.
Maybe the in my county they are a bit behind!

You are behind...belt part # was released about 3 months ago. Hard to find, but item #28. Emujo
