    km-2550 "reseat toner"

How many poeple have the "reseat toner" message appear on these machines. Have had a few machines do it but im putting it down to non OE toner catridges being slightly to small to activate the sensor at the back.

Its like finding the holy grail when you see a customer with genuine toner

On thursday i went back to a machine that had changed from the customer description of "it keeps asking for toner" to "reseat toner" on the display

I originaly chopped the spring on the toner cartridge so the cartridge didn't get pushed out as much but thought the problem will re-occur when a new one is fitted.

So i filed down the collar lever bessel (sits inside the blue toner lock handle) just enough that it sits proud of the blue handle and small enough to shorten the gap.

I'm back at the customers next week to fit a drum so i'm sure the customer will shout at me if it hasn't worked.

Anybody have any other solutions on this

Use OEM toner, the $25 you saved with the aftermarket toner just got consumed by the cost of the service call.

      Ditto: =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Hey i'm just the monkey not the organ grinder!

You try telling the people who only look at oem toner costs to non oem toner and all they see is $$$$. Not that the product is crap just what it will save in money - engineers all know its crap but accountants and senior managers only see savings not the down time in fixing the damage it causes.

I just have to go along and try to get this crap to work as best i can along with all the other guys and girls who deal with this stuff.

Love it or hate it - its here to stay.

make sure your using the updated toner the old toner used to fit the 2050 as well as the 2550 now there is a small change between the two, but i'm not sure if that was OEM or not
