    Windows 10 Usercodes Issue

I've seen this a few times now with some accounts that have jumped on the Windows 10 upgrade. If the driver is set to "Prompt for Account Code", Printing via Microsoft Office Suite or the Built in PDF Viewer, the code is not getting transmitted with the print job. You will get an account ID error. If you save the code in the driver everything works great. Has anybody else found a workaround for this? I've got a ticket open with tech support right now just wanted to see if anybody else has found a solution.

So far Windows 10 hasn't been that bad for me just a few things here or there. I do get a chuckle out of it worked before I upgraded now the Printer is messed up!

Have you tried checking "print directly to device" in the advanced tab of the driver properties?

My understanding is that when a computer upgrades to Win 10, the installed TCP IP ports are changed to WSD ports. WSD ports don't support snmp, so the codes don't prompt, changing it back to TCP IP should fix the problem.

        HATE those WSD ports.

Darry is correct, it's a known issue.
          Hope that helps !

I'll have to keep an eye out for this one.

                Re: Windows 10 Usercodes Issue

Has anyone tested the KX driver that was released Friday to see if the issue was fixed ?

When I talked with the hotline, they sad it should be fixed in the next release. I couldn't find anything in the notes regarding a fix though.
                Hope that helps !

you could disable WSD printing, even Win 7 has been known to hunt for WSD printers.

I don't think WSD was ever meant for today's intelligent printers and MFPs.

It may be OK for very basic desktop printers, but that's it.

I had an Equitrac install a few months ago where the customer's IT guy insisted on the WSD ports when he installed on the print server.

Had to change 14 print queues over to IP ports so that Equitrac would work.
