By deduction, I'm going to conclude that your customer is scanning to SMB until recently. Up to WinXP the standard port for SMB communication is port 139. Win7 and up, the standard port for SMB communication is port 445. Older Kyoceras did not have the option to select the SMB port. So there are two simple ways to communicate via SMB:
    1) define the port in the IP address, for example: 192.168.1.200:445
    2) Open up port 139 on the recipient PC or server.

    =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Kyocera has not supported any operating system after windows 7 with scanner file utility. Having said that I can tell you we have used scanner file utility on windows 8, 8.1 and 10. Make sure you use version 4.11

From your description of the problem the customer is scanning to a folder on the server. When you shared the folder did you use the Advanced Sharing? There is a difference. When we setup a scan folder on a WinServer by default we always use the advanced sharing. With the heightened security in WinServer 2008/2012 a simple share will not give you access to the folder while advanced sharing will. We also always check the security tab as well to make sure the user account has at least modify rights, we normally set it to full control.

Whilst I am sure all the above advice will work. I had this exact same fault on a Ricoh MPC2550, SMB Scanning worked fine until they upgraded to Windows server 12, then it stopped working. I upgraded the network firmware on the Ricoh, didn't change anything else and it's all back working again.
