ECOSYS M2035dn not recognising IB-51 Wireless network card.

    Hello,

Has anyone experienced IB-51 not being recognized on this little machine M2035?

I have installed it right out of the box. Took fax kit out and inserted IB-51 in. Plugged in the power. Machine took some time to come to ready (adding toner) then printed Maintenance info, all good apart from the IB-51 not being seen. . Booted machine printed Service reports OK

Reloaded firmware, with IB-51 and also without it and still not being able to see it. Put fax kit back in the machine and it nicely recognized the fax card. Put the IB-51 back in and still not to be seen.

Have a missed something in the setup?

I can access webpage via LAN and print. Did network reset in to factory default and that did not help either.

    Many thanks.

    Hey,
Havnt installed it for quite a while now, but you Need the Software that comes with the card. It should be in the Package.
After that you can connect to the network of your via wlan and configure it via that software.

The installation guide doesn't give a lot of detail, but I believe you need to run the CDROM to go through the wireless setup. Once the wireless setup is complete you should be able to disconnect the network cable. Have a look at the setup guide. It will help you. =^..^=

      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.

I did try to go trough the CD even with support on the phone. The machine did not see the card full stop. Card returned to manufacturer and customer is on LAN..

Thank you for suggestions! Much appreciated, just hoped for some switch in service.

Is it a M2035 or M2535? The IB-51 is only supported in non-fax models.

Absolutely correct. The IB-50 AND IB-51 does not work with the M2535. See bulletin1 for both models under the Options headline.

              Good catch there B0265.

I am guessing you were talking with kyocera tech support, is that right ?, and they did not point out that the M2535 does not support the IB-51 card.

Well looking at the bulletin1, kyocera made it confusing. On the acc/options section, they mention it does not support the IB-51, but on the procduct configuration they list the machine with the memory stick and the two IB cards. [ Total confusion there ]. So the lesson i learn here is to read the options section to check for the support and compare the pictures which the eye will be attracted, especially when you are in a rush.

                  Thanks B0265!

It actually is the FAX model a.e. ECOSYS M2535DN (Vendor version 3514MF)
We installed it on behalf of other dealer and since I haven't installed one of these small desktops I assumed that FAX board goers out and Wi-Fi in. Since they both look pretty much the same.

Looking at the brochure and config model at Kyocera site comparing them with vendor and it actually states that this model doesn't support IB-51.

I am sure it is a matter of SSW as the whole fax hardware is on that silly card. So unless someone can share that SSW or other way of converting that machine the other dealer may have to replace the machine.

Thanks for your replies and mainly to B0265 for spotting the issue. Cheers!!

Get one of these. We use them on all models of Kyocera. Sometimes they fail or fall off the network (usually because of maxed out network range passing through floors and concrete walls or whatever). When wired isn't an option this is a $50 fix.
