    [Jamming] Kyocera Taskalfa 250ci - Jam31 & Jam18

    Hi guys,

could do do with a little help on this one.

Basically I've a Taskalfa 250ci that is jamming everytime, jam31 when feeding from cassette 1 and jam18 from cassette 2. With the jam31, the Regist actuator is okay, the sensor is okay, the clutch tested okay but replaced it anyway to be on the safe side, the gears on the feed assembly look fine and move without resistance. Am I looking at the feed board here or is there something I may be overlooking? (Just before I go the costly route)

As for the the jam18 in the second cassette could these two jam codes be linked? And again could the feed board solve both problems, because all sensors and clutches are testing fine from maintenace mode also. Firmware on this machine is up to date.

also if it helps it feeds okay from the mp tray. Any help appreciated.

    Re: Kyocera Taskalfa 250ci - Jam31 & Jam18

Here are a few entries from the blackcat database. Maybe they'll help:

Misfeeds J18 from tray #2 only. Weak spring tension fron the door idler rollers. Stretch springs for lower door idler rollers (measure spring and plastic end together) from 30mm to 34mm.

Misfeeds J18 from tray #2 only. Black plastic guide is out of it's rear pin, partially blocking the vertical path. Most likely caused by careless jam removal. Re-seat the black plastic inner vertical guide by tray #2. It's just below the upper access door and difficult to see.

Misfeeds J31 at the registration roller, every page. Transfer belt inner ridge has peeled off and bound up the transfer belt drive. Transfer belt is ripped. Replace transfer belt assy.

Misfeeds Jam J31 every time from all paper sources. Loop sensor jam. The rear inner ridge of the transfer belt peeled off, causing the transfer belt to bind up and rip. Replace primary transfer belt assy (302JZ93070). Perform color calibration.

Misfeeds Jam J31 from tray #1 only. Paper gets accordianned into the lower edge of the registration roller assembly. Label stock has been fed from tray #1, letter orientation. Many labels have peeled off, and labels and adhesive are left on the preregistration guides & rollers. Handles B1 are broken. The registration mylars may be ripped or forced in under the reg roller. Clean labels & adhesive from guides & rollers (total vertical path disassembly required). Replace handles B1. Replace any ripped or torn registration mylars. Advise customer to feed labels letter R orientation, from MP tray, labels media type.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

There have been 5 of them actually, since 1996. 5.2MB does not sound like a lot of data, but it goes a long way in Excel. Back then I realized that I would forget far more than I could ever retain. It has proved too true. I can forget almost anything, given enough time.

The formatting hasn't changed much in 20 years, still based on Canon's 3 digit fault codes (i.e. C01: inoperative/copy quality), and 3 digit cause codes (i.e. 500: primary charge). That should be familiar to the long time Canon techs. =^..^=

... I've forgot about Canon, it was that long ago...

Might have to stream-line the Blackcat database with a make-over. At least a new hair-do so it looks appealing....
