    KM4035 problems resetting scanner nic

Client needs to change file size of email scans. They can't access the scanner nic because the person who set it up has left and no one knows the admin password. I tried doing the scanner nic initialing with maintenance mode U504. The nic didn't reset. I tried with the network cable removed and power reset after U504. The password and the address book don't clear. Is there another way to rest the scanner nic.

    Brewser,
Been a loooooong time, but there should be jumpers on the card. Can't tell you which ones, but I believe they are marked. Pull the scan card out and place the jumper across the "reset" pins, re-install and power the machine up for a minute, then reverse the process. If this works, it should reset the password to default setting.

if you want to reset a scanner card take the scanner unit out and you will see four pins located far left on the component side of the board.
its a long time so i am not 100% sure but its one of these .first make a note were the bridge is on the pwb as when its cleared you have to put it back in the original place.
first try connecting the two number 2 pins and switch machine on if that dosn't work connect the two number one pins and switch machine on .
      hope this helps

If you want to do a hard reset, know that it will clear out everything and you will have to set up all scanning functions as if it is a new scanner board.
To do this, you have remove the scanner board. (let me know if you don't know how to do this)
Look on the board and you will see a small plug type connector, connected to 2 pins, remember the position it is in now.
Move the little connector to the other 2 pins, not being used right now.
reinstall the board and power up the machine, twice.
Remove the scanner board again and put the connector back to its original pins.
        That should reset it.
If it doesn't, note that there are 4 possible positions to install that little connector and try the other 2 positions, that have not been used.
one at a time, One of the positions will reset it. but you always have to put it back to its original position for it to work.

Well I guess there's no need for me to repeat the same thing for the fourth time. Just remember that only the most recent IB23/NS-30 firmware will allow SMB scanning. =^..^=

          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

                    Ok funny guys.
There were no replies to this thread when I sent my answer.
It just so happens that all 3 of us must have sent our replies at the exact same time.
That's what I get for trying to help.
