    FS 3140+ jamming issue

So it looks like the jam code is a J31(although there were several JE0 jams also), since I am told that they never can find a jam. I am also told, that it usually is the first sheet of the job run. I was there and have installed new feed tires, and they called back within a week. I went back out there, but it ran fine while I was there, and I ran the hound out of it and then made them print several jobs before I left. About all that I can think of is either the cassette or maybe the lifter motor assy. What my question is has anyone seen this before on these models before I start ordering a bunch of parts.

    Thanks

    Scott

Check the rear and front door interlock switchs/actuators. JE0 can occur when the machine stops printing due to an interlock being in an open state.

Make sure the spring pick up is in place on the feed holder assy that keeps pressure down on the paper. Part # 302F906120.

Thanks I have seen that one before and was the first thing that I checked, and I am usually very carefull when I change the rollers now due to the first time losing the spring.

Thanks I wasnt sure if it had anything to do with the other jam code, but there were several. I will check that the switches next trip there.

Is this machine on an extra paper tray? Do as wrapdale suggest and paper feed sensor in that extra tray. Let us know the outcome

Did you replace just the tires or the complete take up and feed assembly? I believe there is a one way bearing in the assembly which might occasionally slip. Also I did have one which had too much torque on the separation roller assembly and that caused intermittent jams.

                Hi All

I know this is an old thread but have the same issue on machine.

want to make sure, the machine is on an extra paper tray PF-310+

As crazymugs said need to check paper feed sensor, and interlock sensors as wragsdale suggested.
Where is the interlock sensor situated ?
On extra cassette or machine door ?
