PF750 - LCT lift motor faults within short timespans

    Hey there,

    sorry for my english^^

I don't service Kyo a lot, that's why you can not much postings from me in this area but I love to return any favour with my ricoh knowledge^^

    Here we go:

    I have a customer with a fs9530, current print counter ~900000.
Machine is equipped with PF750 LCT and during the last month we have a lot (literrally) broken lift motors.
After the second one we also swapped paper height sensor and checked wiring etc.
The cassette assemby / gears / lift mechanism also seem healthy and the customer takes care to insert new paper properly.

Funny thing is that this is the second LP3151 for this customer and I recall we needed to swap some lift motors for the previous one as well after ~1 Million prints.

Last motors we got looked pretty modified with cable binders (!!) attached around the housing to prevent it to pop open during load - still even this revision did not survive for long.
We replaced 3 motors during the last months

Any hint would be much appreciated - you can imagine that this is a pretty lame downer for both me and the customer^^

No Feedback? Well I made some call and heard the same story from other dealers but no fix besides swapping motors again.

We did now modify a new motor, strenghten the housing with lots of JB Weld on the inside and outside - looks funny at least

Sorry Gift, I've never seen that. We placed hundreds of those PF-750's but none of them ever got significant clicks.

I repaired a lot of broken off plastic mounting clips for the feed roller assembly.
      I've replaced a few clutches.
I've replaced a lot of tires.
I've replaced separation springs that magically disappear, and noone knows where they went.

      That's about it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I have seen the coupling on the back of the tray crack/break and cause issues with motors on the lct . the part is 5FH02020

Thanks - the cassette lift mechanism and involving parts has been generally checked but we will take a closer look at the coupling if we got another call.

Have had to replace a few of these motors but put it down to users being heavy handed with the machine. Especially when closeing the drawer. There were problems initially with the gear shaft, it was made of a weaker plastic that would become twisted slightly over time causing it to not couple properly with the back of the cassette. But the modified motor solved this problem.
