[Jamming] Task Alfa 5551ci jamming at high coverage

    Fuser detail web.jpg
I have a Task Alfa 5551CI at a customers that has a recurring problem with high coverage prints sticking to the fuser roller.

so far we have tried a new fuser unit and adjusting the heat and print margins but the problem remains.

we have also tried other paper stocks but this did not help either.

    Hy !
put high quality paper in by-pass tray, configure by-pass like " transparency " paper media BYPASS CONFIGURE, it's reduce machine & fuser speed and solve the problem !
also configure in KX driver the paper origin : bypass and paper type : transparency,

    Bye

I agree to run as heavier stock to slow the machine & also run in landscape.
      Hope that helps !

Thank you all for your suggestions, Only problem is that the customer insists on full speed and portrait orientation.

I may well have to tell them that is the only choice but it will not go down well as you can imagine.

You're only option then is to tell them not to be cheap & buy the 28# hammermill color laser paper. They won't have to run it on heavy & it has more body to it.
          Hope that helps !

try adding more lead edge erase in sim 402. to let the fuser get upto temp in time before the paper lead edge gets to the heat and press roller

Tear the paper....if the grain is lengthwise, orient the paper grain perpendicular to the fuser rollers!

If the grain is parallel to the rollers, the paper gets a tighter curl and cups itself to the roller!...just change the orientation of the paper in the paper drawer!

Also, hold the blank paper up to the light, if it is show-thru, get a heavier paper stock! When I do a publication type print, I use this paper:

Amazon.com : HEW113100 - HP Premium Choice Laserjet Paper : Laser Printer Paper : Office Products

32 pound and no show-thru that I have noticed!

Another point, image on a paper is reflected light image, paper on a screen is transmitted light image.

The image can be opened in Photoshop/GIMP, etch and the DMax (dark end density) can be reduced!...this will put less toner on the page and reduce the chance of sticking!--and still look good at the same time!...remember, the higher the whiteness/brightness of the paper, the less toner will need to be put on the page to get a good image! I ALWAYS go for the highest brightness paper that I can afford for the application, and I've never been disappointed!

PS--you're gonna get crap results from crap paper!
