May want to verify that the firmware you're using is actually for the FS-3140MFP...
Might possibly be firmware for the FS-3140MFP+ instead..
The "plus" uses different firmware than the regular MFP..
Also, I know that the USB port can be disabled within the settings menu.. (System Menu/Counter - System - I/F Block Set. - USB Host - Unblock/Block)
However, I would think this is probably not your problem.. I don't believe disabling the USB port from customer use will actually block it from firmware upgrades, but I have never actually tried disabling one and performing firmware upgrades so as to test the theory.. So I can't be sure of that one.. Maybe one of these other guys knows for certain..
I know you're up & running now.. So no worries.. Mainly its just some food for thought.. lol

I will take a look at that when I'm in their area again. I like to keep my machines updated to the most current versions when I can since tech support always ask "do you have the latest firmware installed". Thanks for the info.
